Default Re: Title search back to '67, how is it done???

Ron, My Chevelle was sold brand new at Orville Nerhus Chevrolet in Lakefield MN per the buildsheet. I have been successful in tracking my car to 1976 thru Illinois, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Minnesota. I only got the MN title thru the South Datota search. Do you know of a way to get a Minnesota search done? I think when I called that the person told me that they only go back like 10 years. My car was in MN from new till 1989. Any help would be appreciated.

Budnate....I hope you aren't serious about having someone in Scottsdale photocopy white pages for you !!! I meant an internet white page search.

Actually I was, I assume by your response this a big no,no?.
It seemed like a ok idea at the time?. I spose i can get the info from the local library?.
I tied to search online, I have attbi. for a connection up here and tried a internet search, like "white pages Scottsdale Az" and it did'nt work so well, one Co. wanted 10 bucks for info I think I allready have, I called the phone Co. and they said the name did not match the add i have, and the guys name did not come up in the area, but there was another person with the same last name in the area but was unlisted.
I need to relax until i talk with the fella in Cal, his wife was very nice, might be some hope of recovering my a/c and alt parts.

hvychev(Frank)
Go to my link: www.dps.state.mn.us
Then find the Driver & Vehicle Services link on the left column.(click on that)
Then find the Vehicle Information link on the left column(click on that)
Then find the Record Information link on the left column(click on that)
Finally, find "Record Request and Explanation of Intended Use" that is highlighted blue and you can click on that link. You can then print out the form.

I just stopped at the local license bureau and this is the same form they gave me. I'm gonna try to trace my 1963 Nova Convertible back through the owners and I believe the car never left Minnesota. I'll see what I can find out and let others know. It sounds like it only costs $4.50 so it would be money well spent.

It also looks like it may be possible to trace a MN record if you know the person's FULL name and Date of birth. Perhaps those of you who own a car once registered in MN could use the form to find out information on your car. I don't know for sure so maybe email a question to somebody at the web site I listed. Hope this helps you all.

Contact me by PM if you have questions, otherwise, this is getting long.

There was a place selling a Good Humor truck here local Marlin ! It ran and worked....I really wanted the damn thing but couldn't figure out what to do with it....but now I have an idea....bring it to the reunion and sell Strawberry Shortcake BigBlock Yenko bars and even Smallblock bars to all the folks there !! Think I could get clearance to make ice cream bars in the form of a Yenko emblem ???
