i believe the blue GM decal was only used on 67 camaros, correct me if i am wrong , so that would make the only thing on the 69 camaro door the tire pressure sticker?

in john hooper's camaro book from a to z, there is a picture that shows the inside of the drivers door on a 69. it shows the tag and makes reference to it, with the car build date and vin no.

That would make sense if it was a late built 69 Camaro. The 1970 Camaro and Corvette did not come out until Feb./March 70,so they continued the 69 Camaro and Corvette bodystyle into the early 70 months. Thus it would have the Horizontal Blue GM Vin# and Date Certification label. |

Rick,
For Corvettes (I'll defer on the other cars in the Chevy line to those who are more knowledgeable), 1969 production ended on December 19, 1969... 1970 Corvette production started on January 5, 1970 so there was no "carry over" between the 1969 model year and the 1970 calendar year. I was under the impression that Camaro production for both Norwood and Van Nuys also ended prior to 1970, but as noted, I'll wait for one of the Camaro guys to verify that. As you stated, the official introduction for the 1970 Corvette was in mid-February... If I'm not mistaken, the Camaro was introduced at the same time. As far as the door label that contained the serial number/build month & year, Corvettes apparently began using them beginning in September 1969... I have never seen an original August 1969 Corvette with this label. By the way, the 1970 Chevelle on your website is outstanding! Beautiful car! Regards, Stan Falenski |

I don't believe that these foil GM decals were ever installed on 1968 or 1969 camaro's. Jerry MacNeish says intermittently on the 1967 cars. I think people use them because the parts houses sell them. sam

My understanding is the foil GM Mark of Exellence sticker was only used in 67. I know this to be true for corvettes and I belive it was the same for all GM's.

I believe Phil Brewer has the blue GM sticker on the inside door of his 68 ChevyII. I think I have seen that sticker advertised in year one and other suppliers as correct for that model but not for sure. His is shown in the year one ads in the back of A couple of Super Chevy's once A year Nova issues.

If I remember correctly, the 1967 sticker had a different color blue background than the 1968 and they did not use these stickers at all in 1969.
