My understanding was that the Lawman car was the display car they used for Promotions, not the actual drag car.

I don't think any of them were made for sanctioned drag racing. According to the web site there were 14 cars built for this serviceman training/awearness program. From web site........
"Two '70 Super Boss 429 - fuel-injected and supercharged - and 12 stripped 428CJ MACH 1 Mustangs are known to have been used by the American Command Drag Team (later United States Performance Team) for training of the European and south east Asian US army guys"
