I took a couple of pictures today. These wheels don't look like they were really abused, just weathered. The seller's story is that they were on a '64 Nova drag car from Florida that had been campaigned in the '70s and had sat since 1979. Chrome on the center caps is pretty much gone but the color on the medallions is nice.

Tony,
------Center caps that I see in your pics arent chromed anyway.Just aluminum. You can polish them easily. ------Easy to see that they were, indeed,on a race car as the rims are drilled. These will take a polish very easily, and will look killer!...........Bill S......ol red! |

Sorry for the late reply.
Bill, these center caps are chromed plastic. I was planning to send them to American Plastic Chrome to be redone--can any of you guys recommend anyone else that does good work? Also, these wheels have a brushed finish and I like the look, but they need to be refinished to look good. Is there any homegrown way to duplicate this kind of finish or should I send them out to get redone professionally? Thanks, Tony |

Tony,
-----Im sorry, the pic makes them look like the aluminum caps.As far as the wheels go I used to use Scotchbrite pads and bolt the wheels to a jacked up car. After making sure the car is totally secure put it in drive and pretend you have a lathe..........Bill S......ol red! |
