If it wasn't for Tim )copolocater) and His Brother I Would NOT have my Baldwin MOTION Camaro!! I don't know how much they made off the deal NOR do I CARE---I am Very THANKFUL--the car was RARE and the Price was FAIR.. I will Highly recommend them to anyone looking for a Supercar. I don't have the time to chase down these leads myself and I was better off trusting them to find me a car. Much thanks - Your Friend, Mark

I agree! Although I don't know Tim or his brother, I find it comforting to know that there's expert opinion and guidance available to those of us that don't have the time, expertise or network to locate and acquire these rare cars. With so many fakes, phoneys and shams out there...it just makes good sense to enlist the counsel of copolocator! His talents are obviously worth something, and he is entitled to be paid for his services. I, for one, hope that whatever/whoever has soured him on making his service[s] available, is only temporary. There are a lot of thankless ingrates in all occupations and avocations and I'm sure Tim has endured his share. I'm pretty good at what I do for a living, but I would never expect to know as much about Supercars as Tim [and most others on this board]. Plus, he made it known that he was willing [for a fee] to bring buyers and sellers together without it being some sort of intrusion of his privacy. If I'm shopping for "Top Advise", I expect to pay "Top Dollar", or suffer the consequences of "no advise" or "cheap advise". Some of you guys don't need to depend on others when shopping/buying the RIGHT car...most of us do!

Thanks for the kind words.I've done the best I could to help in many instances but it has come to the point where financially I have to consider my personal needs.I don't and have never charged for info or bringing buyer seller together.I've only stated that if buyer or seller want to throw something my way thats fine. But it has come to the point that a couple deals my phone calls were more than the financial gain.I spend 3-4 hours a day answering emails & phone calls helping with info no charge. That takes me away from searching or buying items so I can make a nickel.I don't want everybody to suffer but I can't continue answering emails on where to get a 68 bumper,I have a 69 yenko for $150,000 anything over that is yours,I'm looking for my old 68 blue yenko but I can't give you the vin#.This is everyday off of this site.I want to help anybody I can without being an -ss but I can no longer answer these types of emails .If somebody gets offended I'll pre appologize but you have to understand my situation.

copolocator, i think your service would be greatly missed. You should get payed for what you do. I would set-up a fee schedule for varies services. If they do not want to pay, that be there choice. Very few things come without a price these days.

i met tim at the supercar reunion and have purchased a few items from him, but, had one other transaction with him concerning the selling of one of my cars. it was very professional and he was very fair. i understand his frustrations with those who want his services after they priced there items at top dollar. i would hope that if someone chose to involve tim they should leave him some room or expect him to fairly price your merchandise as he knows what he is doing. time is money$ and he can't waste time to get nowhere. he is one of the most straightforward and fair people you will ever meet. lets don't lose this valuable asset to our hobby! sincerely!

Hey Tim, I understand your position and reasoning. I have a suggestion that I have seen other people use. They set up a link to their own Paypal account so people can make donations for information. My Toyota 4Runner has been off the road for 3 weeks while I tried to make repairs and I ended up asking some experts for help and I had no problem making a donation for their time and expertise. It's something you might want to consider.
Jeff.

Tim,
We've never met, but based on the responses I have seen from you and those made about you, I would have no problem hiring your services. I think you have reached that stage where you are stuck-in-the-middle between a hobby and a business. You likely need to make a choice in this regard. You obviously "work" at what you do, so I think you should set out a fee structure and stick to it. Like Resto says, if they don't care to pay, that's their choice. If you do this, expect some of your "contacts" to start putting their hand out for a cut also. When working with other people's money, you often have to put up with the hassles - the cleanest way is to simply buy the cars/parts yourself and sell your own items. For what it's worth, if I ever decide to buy a '67 Yenko (I'm not a '69 guy), you'll be one of the first people I contact and I'd expect to pay for your "work".

Tim, I can totally relate. I am a wholesaler by trade but deal in late models not collector cars. "Current" market value is what I can get for it today. I have people ask me all the time to find a car for them. I tell them "yes I can save you thousands" but I require 5 to 10% of the wholesale price up front depending on the price of the car. If they pay it, I know they are serious and if I don't find it for them in two weeks I refund it all and tell them so up front. BTW, thanks for your recent help.
