This particular one looks to have a ten bolt rear, according to the picture on eBay (see attachment).
I don't know much about big cars, but that's not very likely is it? -Sam -

Red 4 door biscayne was the real deal. I saw an article on this car in the 80s it had full docs including p.o.p. Also seen it run at Quaker City drag strip in Salem,Ohio. The rumor was 5 67 Impalas were sold with the hipo engine but I have never seen one nor have any been documented. If it were real it would have a 12 bolt rearend and big sway bar on the front.

I know you are talking about 1967,but I once owned a 1966 Impala with a factory 427/425.Only 1856 made.We found paper on it and brought it home. That car beat an LS-6 balls out!
But the next year they only offered the L36 427/385Hp in this carline. |

There was also a 1966 427/425 Biscayne in the Roselle area for a while. It was black with a blue interior and 4 speed.
It was also the real deal. |

425/425's were offered from 1966-1969 in all of the big car line but the '67 is the only year that is very questionable.
And Rick, thanks for pointing out that these big cars had potential. I am very pleased with the power of my cars but am seldom invited anywhere.

The big cars are definately underrated. If I get my car to hook up it runs pretty well. At the local track it has gone 13.65 @ 102 is my best pass ever in it. Its just tuff with a stick car. The red 66 is a pretty neat car, I havent see it in a long time. I also remember a 66 427 wagon with a 4 gear out there too, along with a 409 64 wagon. Micky

Rick,
I agree about the potential of the big cars with the 425's. They were huge in size but didn't weigh all that much more than the Chevelle. Plus the 427's wrapped quicker than the long stroke '54's. There's a Red '65 427 here in town and a Marina Blue '66 425 HP a few miles East of here and they're still with their original owners. The '66 was a regular at the local strip through the early '70's and made believers out of a lot of us. Rick N. Maybe you don't get the invitations for fear of being humiliated by those heavy breathing behemoths! They're welcome down here ANYTIME.

Rick, let's hear some more big car stories. I especially like the ones where the BIG cars beat those girlie LS6's.
