There were actually a lot of small details that are exclusive to the 67 and some of these parts are difficult to find. When I see a 67 my eye goes to the vent window or to the round parking lights on the grill unless its an RS.

Not many make mention of this but the 68 rs and the 67 rs center (egg crate) grilles are different. In 67 the intersections of all the vertical and horizontal black plastic lines are perfectly flush with one another. that includes the rs light covers. In 68 the horizontal lines of both the grille and the covers was slightly higher than the vertical. this I assume was so chevy could install the chrome mylar horizontal strips onto the black plastic without attaching it to the vertical ones. I've heard mixed opinions on if that chrome was factory at all. has anyone seen a 68 rs original grille that has the thin chrome strips? I have not. also 68 is vacuum and 67 electrical. the lower rs directional lamps are not surrounded by chrome on 68.

Festival78, the chrome ribs are correct for 68. My car still had its original grill & h/l covers and they both still had traces of the chrome on the horizontal bars. Goodmark now has a very nice reproduction of the 68 grill with the chrome bars...........................RatPack............ .....

More details to look for:
1967 cars have a solid taillight with no vertical divide, '68 has a divide. 1967 doors and rear quarters (interior side) have painted metal for about the top two or three inches, 1968 door and quarter interior trim panels reach to the top of the door. 1967 bucket seat backs are painted metal, 1968 are plastic. 1967 VIN is located on the frame near the driver's door hinges. '68 is visible through the windshield on the driver's side dash. -Sam
