I understand that the pure stock crew 'suggested' that he bring one of his other musclecars after the orange Yenko session. The rear of the car was sky high when he backed it off the trailer, but was squating low when he brought it to the line. The front end then shot up in the air when he launched, and never came back down until he lifted at the big end! We knew we were up against some S/A cars that year

Pete:

Do you remember what mph he ran? Could the car pass "SA" tech?

112? I take it that was at Stanton? Pete, sounds like you got him covered with your 113!

I'd stand in line as well as pay to see that match up!

Actually that thing never did better than a 110 I believe. It was set up for the drag radials to 60 foot like crazy. Eight inches under the front tires was not un common.(I have pictures to it back up). It would high 1.5's to low 1.6 on the stickies. You could never catch him! However...... put on the poly's and it was a new game. I could usually handle him in that case. Marlin has some good footage of us racing in that mode. That was a lot of fun. Maybe I should bug him to come out and play..................... There are a few that I enjoy beating in a race, but Randy is not one of them. We have a lot of fun when we get together!!!
