Thank you for the info. Is there some where on this site I can find the meaning of the "post icons"? Not real good at this internet stuff.
To answer your questions; When I bought the car I thought it was a 396. Later a friend of mine ran the casting #s to find that it is in fact a strong 73 454. I think I could find out where the 396 is. I believe it has a Borg Warner "T" something close ratio 4 sp. I haven't checked everything but I'm sure everything else is original.I did recently pull the back seat out and found the build sheet. I've never seen one before. I found it in the upper right corner of the "back" of the back seat. Came out in about 10 pieces. It was stuffed in with the padding. A bit discolored but it's the real deal. That's when I knew it was a true L78.took me 45 minutes to tape it together.WOW!! did I get excited. To find the birth certificate of a 33 yr old car. Needless to say, I've looked in all the other cars since and didn't find it. Any idea on value?I could send a few pics. It is pretty. No rust anywhere.
