I'm not sure what "factory" shocks you have seen but Delco spiral shocks are grey. The picture tint is off and that is why it looks blue. Before you bash someone you should send him an e-mail with your question. Jerry does not know everything and he will tell you that's why there are a group of Concours judges. Jerry is a person who takes this hobby very serious. His early Z-28 book is in its third edition. He spends long hours doing research to update the books. I haven't seen anybody more dedicated or honest than him. It is hard to find people like that in this business. He will take the time to answer your questions and not charge you a dime. You should come to the Camaro Nationals at Carlisle and introduce yourself. Maybe he can clear up your other problems with his books.

Welcome aboard TealZ. Very good first post. Jerry does not know it all nor does anyone else, but he is more talented than most. I for one have never seen anything but a grey shock on factory 67-69 Camaros. If there are other colors, I for one have not seen it...BKH

The original shocks on my '69 Z/28 still have some of their gray paint on them.

I have talked to Jerry a few times and he seems very knowledgeable and very helpful, I have read his book on the COPOs a couple of times! I sure am not an expert, but I cannot find any discrepencies in the material he has written.

69L89396- I am color deficient (along with some other areas) and have a difficult time differentiating blue, green and grey (you may be too). Another possibility is your monitor color tint is out of alignment. Lastly there is no need to bash other enthusiasts.

Maybe I don't see color as some other people but if you look at the photo on the website, it looks "blue" to me. Maybe it's a blueish gray?
I'm not meaning to bash anyone here, just stating my option. I think alot of Jerry's information is good. |
