Hi, newbie here. I am amazed at the amount of knowledge you all have about the Supercars. Anyway, I saw an orange '69 Vette at the Vintage Gran Prix about 10 years ago in Pittsburgh. The guy said it was an original Gulf Research Vehicle with the ZL1, which was on a stand in his basement in Canonsburg, PA. He said he bought the car from Don Yenko. It was now running a BB 468. Does anyone know much about this car? True story? I appreciate any information, thanks, Mark.

I have seen that car a few times...don't know much about the particulars. Maybe BKH knows?

Dan, are you from Pgh? I grew up there, live in FLA now. I miss it.

It was at Bloomington in 1994 or 1995. Vette or Corvette Fever had a great article about this car in the mid to late 90's. It has mag wheels and a vinyl hard top. I am pretty sure it is an automatic.
I have the article somewhere in my files. I do not think it had any paperwork, some thought it may have been an L88 with a factory ZL1 transplant. |

I grew up 30 miles outside of Pgh., in Greensburg...Moved to SC a couple years ago. I used to see that car at shows around the area, it was almost always at the Day Chevrolet Corvette shows. I really don't know anything about it, other than it being shown as a ZL1 car.

I'm assuming that this would be a transplant 'race' car? Or is this a potential 3rd ZL-1 or GM mule?
