Depending upon what year L-88, it could be 3904392 (1967), 3919842 (1968-early 1969), or 3946074 (late 1969)... The "840" heads were never used on a production L-88 to the best of my knowledge. The 3919840 heads were the high performance cast iron units used on such engines as the L-71, L-72, and L-78. Regards, Stan Falenski
