I'm not sure the Yenko/Jack Douglas Chev story is widely known or understood. The fact of the matter is Jack Douglas was ordering COPOs on his own. He purchased emblems and stripe kits from Yenko and sold the cars as Yenkos. A few of them are still around with paperwork and they are not on the Yenko inventory sheets. There is an automatic Yenko Camaro in Milwaukee built with a console, something Yenkos cars didn't have.

How many were done is not known. JD is still around but not talking.

Brian, did this BY Yenko Chevelle have the COPO 9737 or 9562 numbers on the window sticker? Does he have the build sheet?

Brian
How was the Chevell-abration? This Chevelle enthusiast could not attend so I am most curious for details.
I went last year with my car so I know the atmosphere. If this was your first time what is your over all opinion of it.
BTW-I live 3 miles from the Old Jack Douglas dealership in Hinsdale Ill.Long gone, but I am always looking for locals who remember his cars.Great Find!

Brian this is an interesting topic. I hesitated to ask previously....In my conversation with original owner of my Yenko Chevelle he said it definitely DID NOT have SYC on headrests.VV Cook said they would order them for him if he wanted them but they never came in ....It may have been an oversight.

The car had all of its Yenko paperwork and POP etc. It is an authentic Yenko. As far as any cars Douglas may have done on his own, I cannot beleive that they would be considered real. William, As for a console equipped car, do you know what to look for to identify a factory installed one? And were are the clone Douglas cars with paper? As for the big Chevelle show it was very good and well run...BKH
