There are no nuances between parts with the same part number.

They could be made from multiple suppliers but if they share the same part number they are intended to be the same for fit, form and function.

Changes to the part design would result in an entirely new part number (for a production part), or a bumped up suffix level for a prototype part (ie 7806391A goes to B, etc).
