The ’66 model year was a special one for Corvette. After introducing the 396 big block engine in ’65, things grew from there. And in ’66, the legendary 427 was born. Offered in two versions of heat . . . spicy, and HOT. The latter came in the form of RPO L72. That got you solid lifters, and 425hp! And that engine is under the domed hood of our featured car!
No expense spared Nabers Bros, frame-off restoration! Very correct and extensively documented! Link to add: https://corvettemike.com/used-corvet...2-convertible/ Contact Jeff Romm (661) 510-3486 [email protected]

The coolest hood (65-66 BB) on any Corvette in my opinion.

Could you order with side pipes?

----But, thank God, this resto didn't get retrofitted with side pipes as they were not on the car originally. As a young guy I also thought side pipes were soooo cool. Now they are added to every C2 imaginable and hardly any of those C2's had them originally. Even hundreds if not thousands of 63/64 C2's seemed to have gained them some how. The offroad under car exhaust (N11) is a great choice for someone that just isn't happy with the way louder side pipes. I know side pipes are iconic, but not every C2 needs them! Comments?....Bill S

Bill,
I agree with you 100%. My personal opinion is they look great on a coupe. On a roadster …… not so much. It makes for a short stumpy look.

I agree with you, Bill. A nice GM N11 system sounds great on these cars. This is a well known L72 done by Ken and Gary Nabers. It was in Austin for many years. A lady ordered this car and was the first owner. I have run it down the road a few times.

Good grief, if I could go back in time, this is exactly the way I would order it. I don't care for side pipes either. To me, they detract from the clean lines of the body.
The Gold lines are a real attention grabber on this color too. Thank god, they didn't put red lines on... ![]() Absolutely stunning car.... ![]()
