			Thanks for the posts and pics.   The image with the 14  1 stamped on the machined surface is the only one that has similar fonts (The horizontal bars on the "E" are not equal between top/bottom and middle and the "B" is wider).   It appears the one I posted was lightly struck, but as others have posted, it looks quite questionable. My biggest concern is it appears the "E" and "B" were struck separately and not on a gang stamp holder.

			Overlayed the one image provided by Chuck with the stamp picture I received - scaled the pics to the machined boss surface first, then rotated and aligned - fonts seem similar, but clearly the "B" is offset.

			Is the EB code correct for a 70 L/78 with a 4 speed ? With an 02D build date , also I’m guessing it should look like the 70 Chevelle style ?
