Correct, but I don’t believe 335hp was ever available in the SS427.

I'm going to vote no.
Traditionally, the 396 in passenger cars handled this horsepower range. That changed for the 1969 passenger car when the 2-bbl carb 265 hp engine was introduced as the only offering. I believe the 335 hp 427 was just covering the 325-350 hp no longer offered in the 396 passenger car. Information gathered from Colvins book and is just my opinion.
