Idk about the 68 GTO hood but the 69 bird hoods are trash! Not even close if you know what you’re looking at.
If it’s a rare car I wouldn’t use a repro hood. There are plenty of originals to be found. If you decide you need an original let me know and I’ll Ask around I’m sure I could find you one All depends how rare the car is , if it’s a RAII car I wouldn’t ever consider the repro. If it’s a garden variety driver then sure use a repro
