Cool story..
Those sagging springs isn't a Carolina only feature. '66-67 A bodies were famous up here for sagging after 5-6 years. I was putting spring spreaders in them in the mid seventies because the owners couldn't get the headlights low enough to see the road. The cars were already so rusty, the owners weren't willing to spend the $75 I charged for new springs from the dealer and install time.
