Should get the truck back from repair shop and try to see back there today - truck was just purchased last month - had sat a year and little maintenance done over the last decade or two. Changing all fluids, belts, hoses & tune-up parts. Had the town carburetor guru revive it this week:

Adjusted carb - set timing - rejetted - was way rich at idle - and way lean at RPM - both conditions fouling the plugs.

Valve train checked good.
Compression checked good:
1 - 175 .... 2 - 165
3 - 165 .... 4 - 170
5 - 180 .... 6 - 175
7 - 175 .... 8 - 175
