No need to replace old housings. Wet sand lens with 600 until all the yellow water disappears then clearcoat with your favorite clear, I like SPI for this.

As for lights I prefer to use bulbs in 5000k or 5500k LED color temp, for white light at night without too much blue or yellow

Not if the housings are Spyder cracked on the inside, there is no way to fix that as I heave found. And my experience with wet sanding them or using tooth paste is the yellowing always comes back. Bill

His original post does not mention anything about spider cracking.

I have wetsanded and clear coated over 10 sets of OEM housings and even at 10 years old for the first set restored they still look brand new on that car - it sits outside everyday all day.

This is not simply buffing plastic.
