There is no shortage of resort hotels with Golf Courses near Westworld where Barrett-Jackson is. In fact there are condos and hotels around TPC Scottsdale where you can stay and the parking for Barrett-Jackson is right there. (A bus takes you from the parking lot to the auction). Another option is Kierland. It is a Westin resort and has a golf course. It is walking distant to a plethora of restaurants and is a short drive to Westworld.
As Charlie mentioned the Pavillions car show is on Saturday. It is always worth it to see that car show. I think you will find that Scottsdale Auction week and Barrett- Jackson are a step or two up from the Mecum events

You may want to call and check availability for the dates around the auction. I would assume that those dates fill up fast.
That being said, there are lots of places to stay along the 101 and 202 fwy's within a 15 to 20 mile range....
