I used a service for the oil in my 1992 Caterpillar 3406 for years. It was the last year of mechanical injectors and they were famous for an internal seal to leak fuel into the oil and thin it, along with head gaskets and liner o-rings leaking coolant over time. Invaluable information to detect impending issues and take corrective action.
