I know of a 12k unrestored original 69 L78 Camaro that has exactly what you're decribing. Doesn't mean they're all that way but his was. Several suppliers..Joe

My 67 7B L78 has only hex nuts clips. Obviously they had second and third sources for hardware. I have notice the square nut clips used on 69 camaros. Is the front sheet metal original on your car?

As far as I know the sheet metal is original. Both fenders are stamped week 25. For reference my car is a 6E.
