My recollection is that, in 72, the GTX was an 'option package' on the Road Runner, which included the 440 engine and maybe a few other items

And I agree, gorgeous color combo. Not a fan of the rear wing though.

I’m a diehard GM guy but like all Mopars. This era Road Runners- GTX’s are growing on me . This is a really nice car and I’ll bet it handles good going down the road.
