Ok, my first post on a website in likely 5 or more years since photobucket hell. First time using Flickr. Not sure how to make the picture show up in the thread like in the past, maybe only the link works.
Have a question, will early torque thrusts fits over disc brakes or do you have to use a newer variant. I got these cool wheels off a 62 vette race car and thought I could use these until I get some new E series tires like the original. Thought someone here would know. Depends on the specific type of TT - you just have to test fit them. Some are clearanced for the caliper and some aren’t.

did not get lucky, instant collision. Atleast I got a look at the caliper for the first time. lil rusty.
If I want to use these wheels, I just updated myself on info to use of a 3/8" spacer would be needed and then messing with the studs and/or lugnutts. I have a pair of 15x6's what will work with the disc brakes that I'd entertain selling FWIW.

I just spent HOURS and HOURS trying to make it happen. They do NOT fit with Goodyear Wide Tread E-70 tires on a '68 Camaro. I am talking about 15" X 6" American Racing Equipment "Sport Wheels". The back space is 2.5" They don't tuck under far enough. Compared to the factory Rally with just over 4". I had two tires mounted but not balanced. Put them on the front. They hit the calipers. So I made 2 - 1/4" aluminum spacers and that worked great. Come to find out, you can just buy them in a set of 4. WELL, I had the back two mounted and they hit the brake drum balancing weights. SO, I ordered a set of 4 spacers and put 2 more 1/4" on the back. Then they cleared. But the lugs needed to be longer. So I ordered 3/4" inch lug nuts. BUT... they were about a 1/16' too long so I had to machine them down a touch. But the tires were going to rub on the upper fender because they don't tuck back under far enough. So I got a spring compressor and put spacers under coil springs that raised the front 1.5 ". But it didn't work. I backed the car out of the garage, and when I went to turn the wheel I heard a horrible sound. It was the tire being forced under the very front part of the fender. Sounded like it tore the fender off. But it didn't do any damage. Pulled the car back on the lift and raised it to working height. I thought raising it higher might work. So I did taller spacers under the springs. BUT.... THAT changes the geometry of the spacing. As the car rises the tires actually have LESS front room. So I bought smaller tires to try. Mounted them on 2 wheels and put them on the front. The car didn't look right, put them on the back and it looked like a hot wheels car. SO... I removed ALL 4 tires off the Americans. Mounted the Good Years back. Had them balanced. Took the spring compressor and put the 3/4" spacers back on, which raised the car about 1.5 inches. I left those on because the front shocks are tired. Installed the rallys back on, torqued them to 70 in 5 pound increments starting at 40. Going to sell the wheels. What a nightmare! BUT, Took the car to a show Saturday and entered 3 classes and won 3 trophy's! 1st Place Factory Muscle/2nd place '79 and earlier Chevrolet/2nd place 1967 to 2002 Camaro.
The only way to MAYBE make it happen on a '68 is to use the torque thrust " D " wheels. They bow out and have a bigger back space of about 3.5". But I hate the visual. They don't look right. I aged on this one. ... Danny |

They LOOK great. But can't run 15". Even with the smaller diameter tire, it was only a 1/2" from the front fender. And looked wrong to me. Live and Learn. Good Luck!!... Danny
