My Honda spec's 0-20 oil and, to me, the 0 is only to reduce internal engine drag and decrease mileage. I refuse to put a 0 anything oil in an engine and expect it to live as well as with the older 5-20 oil. I had a hard time going to the 5-20 years ago, when it dropped from 10-30...

I changed the oil and filter and drained the oil cooler (an additional cup and a 1/3 comes out of there). In total 7-1/2 quarts of very black-looking oil came out. Pennzoil 0W-40 SRT is supposed to be the factory fill. Compare that amount to the capacity refill recomendation of 7 quarts with filter and that would lead you to believe they do put something extra in there at assembly. I was wondering why the dipstick showed a full 1/2 inch above the full line. After refilling with 7 quarts it is now exactly at the fill line.

I sent a sample out to Blackstone Labs and here's the results. Interesting. It looks like the factory adds some type of moly additive given the high level present. A few other owners have posted very similar results from their own factory fill first oil changes (three other cars at 500, 600 and 1700 miles).

The oil pan does have a fancy-shmancy Hellcat SRT logo on it. And all the drain plugs and filter were properly fastened. I double-checked because of some horror stories from other owners about assembly line finger-tight drain plugs. I did replace the oil pan drain plug with a heavy duty magnetic version.

The county finally finished paving my street after leaving me with a 6" drop-off at the end of my driveway for a week.

So I took the heckitty out for drive today. Just got back from a cruise night and this is what she showed:

Got 750 miles on her now!

I had the Heckitty out at a cruise night a week ago and some young dad and his little kids came by. They were probably 7 and 9 years old. One of them starts schooling his dad on the Hellcat and the engine and points out the logo on the fender to him. When he was done telling his dad about what a Hellcat was, I said to the two boys: Do you see the tiny red eye in the face of the logo there? They both got really close and looked and nodded, yes. I said that's how you can tell its a Redeye and not just a regular Hellcat, so remember to always look to check for the red cat eyes, for future reference. They both looked at each other like I had just told them the secret to the universe. They were very stoked! Looks like we got two future Hellcat collectors in a couple decades.
