GM pressed them In....you obviously do not have a press big enough. Plus today’s repop nipples are not made exactly the same or correct as what you just removed. To save you a lot of time and aggravation....take the new nipple and intake to machine shop and have them press it in for you.

We have access to a good local machine shop...just need to source the pressed-in fitting. Help with that would be appreciated...
