The original color was a silver, and may have been called "Argent Silver" back then, but it was a very different hue from the "Argent Silver" mix that is listed in the books now (or sold in a spray can). On my 67 ElCamino we matched an original 1967 spare tire that had never been on the ground (from a 39K mile car), and the "modern" Argent Silver mix was way off.

Also, at MCACN this year we rolled one of my wheels over to an outstanding restored 67 Camaro there that the restorer also matched to an original Camaro spare, and they were identical.

Terry Davis in Wytheville VA sells the correct mixed color by the quart. 276-620-9666
