From the old Super Chevy Sunday days - Indy. He sure knew how to make a hotel entrance!

That was the year I first met him. We had the only 68 SS427 Z24 at the Super Chevy show and his driver showed up with his 69 and 67 Z24 cars. I am thinking this was 1983? I was looking over the 67 Impala and realized I had restored the engine compartment in that very car around 1981 when the car had 25,000 miles on it. Floyd removed the vinyl top from the car after that. Class guy for sure.

----Was that Super Chevy Sunday at Indy? I met Floyd at that show and sold him a couple of things and that started a long distance friendship. I visited his museum several times and he was always there enjoying yakking to whoever bent his ear. Just a wonderful man and special person!

I remember his cars in Musclecar Review when I was a kid. Always said I was going to get to see his museum in Sevierville someday, but it still hasn't happened

I was lucky enough to meet him at MCACN one year, what a loss. Just a a great hobbyist who loved sharing his knowledge and his cars with everyone.

----Yes, Rick! That's my dumb ass trying to figure out my wife's camera. Did you get a pic of my 70 SS Chevelle convert too that weekend (Silver with white stripes). I still miss that car, and as I remember Floyd said good things about it. I had already heard of him before that weekend but we hadn't met before.
----I probably could have been blackmailed over that photo, so thank you for keeping it mostly under wraps!....Bill S

When I was growing up I didn't even know that you could have collections like he had.
