Actually, all too common up here at the headwaters of the rust belt. Either that car sat in a salt marsh for years, or William is right and it spent too many years in a salt state before going to CA. It will get a second life as an "all original" re-body from the tags... ![]()

The trim tag would look fine, but that VIN tag is so rusted and pitted they would probably just have to make a duplicate. A pitted VIN tag on an otherwise rust-free car would be a dead giveaway of a rebody. I wonder how rusty the hidden VIN areas are. |
