Here are some pictures of Lot B21 the 69 "ZL-1" Corvette. I'm not a Corvette expert, but I thought there were only two factory built ZL-1 Corvettes in '69. The Monaco Orange one that was at MCACN in '19 the the Daytona Yellow one that Roger J. owns. Maybe there were more than two built?

I'm thinking you are low on that number. I think Hendricks will scoop that car to go with the rest of his very rare Corvettes.
Two ZL1's produced has been the recognized number of cars by the Corvette fraternity for a number of years..... |

Well, I might agree there may be more. The west coast had a collection ( name slips my mind right now) where there was supposed to be another. As far as I remember both the "original" cars were yellow with the front black stripe....
Where has it been shown to be incorrect? Is there a number that has been determined or speculated.... |

Here are some pictures of Lot B63 the 70 Nova with an L78. This car was featured in the December '07 issue of Musclecar Review. To my knowledge the L78 and L34 were only available with the SS option. You couldn't get them in a plain jane Nova. I asked Doug Marion about that after I saw this car featured in the magazine and that was his understanding as well. This car looked to have all the correct big block stuff so it could be an original SS car that was restored without the SS trim to make it look like more of a sleeper. They were also trying to say that it was a COPO car in the magazine feature, but it has an M21 and a 4.11 rear so that doesn't fit either. It is quite the sleeper. I will be interested to see what these cars sell for. There were some nice cars I saw that last time I was there that I don't see in this auction so he is keeping some. When I was there he had a bunch of Corvettes that I don't see in the auction. I think he had one of every year from '54 to the mid '70's.

Yep, you can see it in the pic. I would LOVE to have that car and I wouldn't care if it wasn't an original L78, I would drive it. That is a stunning Camaro... ![]()

----The ZL1 is a nicely made up car. However there were more than two ZL1 69 Corvettes. The jury is out on how many, but the number is still absurdly low......Bill S

Looks like the white L78 Nova has a few 1969 features going for it.
Front bumper, high rise intake, and f&r side marker bezels, etc to say the least. Couple of other items are out of place also. I dont know the car but maybe its a misprint by the magazine editors. ?
