Dave, I’m fired up about you doing the body in metal. I can’t wait to see your progress. If I had any metal skills, I’d head your way with my English wheel and hammer. This is going to be great.

Thanks, Tim! Although intimidated, I’m excited to learn the art of metal shaping. When it comes right down to it, metal is just way easier to work with and the fact of the matter is, fiberglass is a lot more messy that you realize!!! I have only done a few parts so far and it seems my clothes, hands, floor, the neighbors....all covered with more fiberglass than the part I was working on! So, decision made; METAL!!!!

I think they’ll be a lot of ways around areas that might give me a really hard time by either using donor metal from various cars, or creating the parts by using strips of metal to form the curve. Either way, I’m really looking forward to starting to fabricate this thing!!!

Now, time to find a sheet metal supply house...
