These are "sanctioned" mischieviousness -
First one is the obligatory burnout shot from when they do a magazine shoot (Robert McGaffin photo); Second one is from Indy, trying to break in some new drag radials. K

Here’s the aftermath:
 These stripes are from driving the car about 3 mph over to the next location. They were sticky, too.  He photoshopped them out from behind the tires before publishing this photo (note that you can still see them in front of the tires):
