I believe 1970 Camaro's with Holley carbs (Z28, L78) and NA9 California emissions got the 4 port. All others got 3 ports.

Actually my bad,
Re checked my files and it looks like the solid lifter motors with a Holley carb had a 4 port system while the Q-Jet carb got the 3 port system. Sorry about that. Photo is from a 1970 Magazine of a LS6 Road test.
