They were the optional custom wheel, started in 1960 and continued into the late sixties, maybe longer

They do great work but one thing I have always wanted was the transparent section of the wheel tinted to match the interior. Some guys say they came tinted from the factory, I don't know, all of the original wheels that I have seen are just yellowed looking.
I have found a guy in Sweden that recasts these wheels and he has done two for me with the tint. I am really happy with his work. If anyone is interested I can provide his contact information. Attached is a photo of one he just did for me with the transparent area tinted blue to match the interior in my 61 Catalina.

The 61 is my Fave Pontiac. There is one locally I’m always trying to buy. And it’s a Royal Car.

Used to have a Bonneville. The steering wheel, was already painted, and the interiour wasn't correct. Still I loved this car. Had to sell it, to get jy 65 Wildcat 4 Speed, and a 56 Chrysler 300. U can't keep 'em all. Love to get another some day!
