So, I had to wait for the correct distributor gear as I ordered exactly what I had on the old distributor, which is the same part number. Well the old distributor has a .491 diameter shaft and the new one is .500. 😡
I actually read the instructions on the wiring and it said to install a 1.6 ohm resistor.....although my old one didn't need one. So I ordered that too and installed it along with the correct distributor gear. It started right up and seems to run good. I need to set the timing tomorrow. “Maybe” take it for a spin too!!! Kurt
