I looked through my database and don't have 31-429
430 is Royal Chevrolet in Hunstville
Odd but 428, 427, 426 and 425 are all out of country dealers. So next domestic dealer is 423: Ray Motor Company, Haleysville AL. I'd agree on the first letter "R" also probably after Ray and before Roy. Now could also be a first name with a last name beginning with an R or an R Motors also. I looked through ads for 68 and found one that would have been perfect but Chrylsler, Plymouth, Imperials Dealer only Rouse Motors, Montgomery although they had ads for used Chevrolets.

I have a 69 Z that is 31 73, which is Joe V Clayton in Arab, AL. Maybe 31 is prodomimatly AL?
