So Dave. You're saying your original grill was molded in black. My grill is black like it should be but it was NOS years ago. The discussion seems to going towards there's no such thing as bone & that it is actually gray & possibly gray was used to make black & silver grills. Your comment would change that thought. So maybe Chevrolet molded a gray grill & a black grill.

Sorry for the delay Joe. I've been down all week... Flu hit me. To answer to your question, yes, my grill appears to have been molded in black. I've always heard the non-black grills called "bone colored" as well. There's a lot about this over on CRG.
