First, the above is not what is classically considered a "mullet". The mullet came later, like in the '90's. This is better described as a stylish hair style circa 1986.

Second, if you are going to use a stereotype for a 1978 Trans Am, it would be more along the lines of the "disco" culture. See Saturday Night Fever for inspiration.
