The NCRS shows the 3968012 as an M-22 for the 1970 model year W/O the alpha suffix...
The WM could have been added later in the model year, who knows... The trans I have has never been apart, the car it came from was completely original except, it rusted away and was parted out when the leaf spring came thru the trunk and back seat... There seems to be a lot of errors and typos from what the AIM's manuals and others say was done on the assembly line, and what actually happened... Hope this helps...
