I don't think Pontiac ever called the GTO's 2bbl. Turnpike Cruiser, but I could be wrong.

They didn't. I should have put quotes around the phrase which I will. Pontiac simply called the option a Regular Gas 265 HP Version of the GTO's 400 CI engine. It was a NC option on the 68/69 GTO. Only available with the TH Auto Trans. STD rear was 2.56 or 2.76 with A/C.
