That is a very cool photo. My brother did the same thing in our driveway on 1971. He took the engine out of his 69 Chevelle SS, put it on the concrete and tore it down. It was a scene just like this one. Ends up he spun a bearing on the 396. He solved his problem by going to an engine shop and buying a complete 427 out of a wrecked '68 Cleveland police car. No matter what he did to the 427, he could not hurt it. He put a cam, headers and a holley carb on it and tore up the streets with it after that. He had a blast with that car. As I recall, he paid about $300 for the 427 at that time.
