I see a few differences. My 1970 heads "074" heads are D ports and yours are round ports. Also my 052 block seemed fine with most machine shop that worked on it, but it didn't need the work your does either.

Van,

Seeing as you are in Northern Ca I would try Dave Riolo from Riolo Racing Engines.
I had one of his blown big blocks in my racecar a few years ago and he was great to deal with.
Very knowledgeable with the big block. I haven't spoken to him for a while but he was in Roseville Ca.
