Notice that it had the finger style trim rings on it. Though it could have been repainted - I don't see silver on the backside.

If you look close at the photo you see some silver overspray onto the black near the oval holes. |

Re 'finger style trims': My 09C Z28 came with the 4 clip trims originally, but in the late 70's, after purchase of a new 1977 Monte Carlo, I 'swapped' the trims between the two cars (because the '69 trims had a few dents [img]<<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/smile.gif[/img]... so my original wheels also have scratches from the finger style trims. Fortunately, before selling the MC, I swapped the trims back... [img]<<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/smile.gif[/img] with the great proliferation of Monte Carlos throughout the '70's, I suspect I was not the only Z28 owner who did that.
Does the 'possibly original' spare tire have a date code on it? re dates, doesn't that 12/17/68 YH wheel correspond to the *earliest* YH we have seen??
