I assume its a 350 engine if you refer to a W31. Its a nice car and the colors were common for 1971. Although they kook good when fresh its not a real desirable color combo.A 350 4 speed has low production numbers but not sure what they are. It sounds like a nice driver quality car that your friend can enjoy with not a lot of money tied up. Without photos I cannot asses the car or its worth, only to say the numbers cannot be far off. If the engine is still original and it has an original carb the carb number will confirm if its an original 4 speed application, number should be 7041253.
