Because HP is a function of Torque and RPM - if the torque falls off at the same rate as the RPM increases then the HP will be flat.
Obviously no reason to keep twisting it if the Torque is falling off and the HP is flat - unless the shifts would drop the RPM's out of the fat part of the curve.

OK, IF that were true, HOW could the engine consume another 130+CFM of air, yet not make any more HP? Maxed out 979 CFM and a VE of 116?

Heard yesterday there were NO correction factors used on the dyno either? So that was with a room ambient temp at 92 deg, and elevations at 3500+ ft accourding to 2 different weather stations, dyno operators and our own.

So when these parameters we put into another local dyno shop's dyno info with the correction factors that have been well known to be very true, Hp came out at 776 at 6500RPM! Down a bit as were out of carb. should peak right about 7-7100 Rpm.
