The street racers that cruised King St. in Kitchener and met at Tim Horton's coffee shop on Ottawa St. raced on #97 outside Ayr but mostly on Wellington St. I remember a very hot W30 '70 442 that was around but not Ryan's W31. The W30
Raced at Cayuga in the early '80s and was sponsored by Bennett's Chev/Olds in Cambridge. I never raced #97
but watched several races, I was a Wellington St. racer. The last time I drove my high school car, an SC/360
clone, was on Wellington St. at about 2.30 am racing a very hot black Duster with a 340 and 456 gears. I could keep up but the gear got him away first and I could not get past his back bumper....The best part was
getting a ride back to Tim's in a '69 Black 69 El Camino SS 396 bench seat 4 speed. The 360 poked a hole in the block in 3rd gear, and was never fixed.
