Help with paint matching

My job consist of matching paint daily and it's getting hard to match the old colors. The paint companies spend money matching current model year colors and don't worry about the past because they already matched them once. The problem is the toners used in the past are no longer legal because of vocs and lead. Probably if you had the correct can of 1966 paint and used clear coat over it wouldn't match either. I'm not saying it's impossible to match old paint but very time consuming. Keep shopping around someone can do it.
