pics of the fisher body water test card. Found inside the headliner of my COPO![






used the body number not vin!

Nobody in the vehicle assembly plant cares about the VIN. The PVI (Primary Vehicle Identifier) or CSN (Carrier Sequence number) is used until the General Assembly (GA) sequence number is assigned; once you have the GA sequence number that is the gold source.

The VIN is just another part to be installed on the correct vehicle, just like the Mulroney window sticker or a tune up or SPID label. It is a component, but not a build tracking aid. In many cases the VIN is not even established until the build is well on its way.
